How Our Rent-to-Own (RTO) Works
Our Rent-to-Own option allows you to enjoy quality furniture immediately, while paying affordable monthly rentals over time — with the option to own at the end.
Here's what you will need
Step 1
Choose Your Product
Select the furniture you want in-store or online and apply for Rent-to-Own.
Step 2
Apply & Get Approved
Complete a simple application. We assess affordability and credit information to ensure the rental is suitable and responsible.
Step 3
Start Renting
Once approved, you sign your rental agreement, pay your once off activation fee, activate your monthly debit order and your product is delivered free of charge (Within 20km of your nearest Astra store).
You may use the product while it remains the property of Astra Furnishers during the rental period.
Step 4
Option to Own
After the minimum rental period, you have the option (but not the obligation) to purchase the product by paying a final ownership settlement amount.
If you choose not to buy, you may continue renting or return the product in line with the agreement.

Important to Know
- Rent-to-Own is not credit or hire-purchase — it is a rental with an option to buy.
- Ownership only transfers once the option to purchase is exercised and fully paid.
- Personal information is handled in accordance with the POPIA Act and our Privacy Policy.
